Major asphaltic overlays have officially commenced on the 9.2-kilometre Sunyani Inner-Ring Road project, a key component of the government's ‘Big Push’ infrastructure initiative. Construction activities, which are being executed by Kofi Job Company Limited, have progressed from the Sunyani-Fiapre Roundabout. The project involves the development of a dual carriageway that serves as a vital link to the Sunyani Technical University and other critical municipal zones.
The Site Engineer for Kofi Job Company Limited, Kofi Kamkam, stated that the team is dedicated to completing the construction within the stipulated timeframe. To ensure the daily lives of residents and students are not severely impacted, the contractors are working on one side of the dual carriageway at a time. This operational strategy is designed to minimize traffic congestion and maintain consistent access for commuters while heavy machinery is in use.
Engineer Kamkam acknowledged the cooperation of the local community despite the inherent inconveniences of the project. He assured the public that measures are in place to manage dust levels and other environmental impacts during the asphaltic phase. Once completed, the Sunyani Inner-Ring Road is expected to significantly improve the local transport network, easing traffic flow and boosting economic activities in the Bono regional capital.
