Kofi Job Company Limited has officially commenced asphaltic overlay works on the 9.2-kilometre Sunyani Inner Ring-Road project. This infrastructure development is being executed under the government’s "Big Push" initiative, aimed at upgrading critical road networks across the country. The project involves the construction of a dual carriageway designed to improve traffic flow and regional connectivity within the Bono Region.
Construction activities were recently observed starting from the Sunyani-Fiapre Roundabout, where heavy machinery and work crews began laying the asphaltic surface. The road project serves as a vital link to the Sunyani Technical University and other key areas of the regional capital. Site engineers noted that the transition to the asphaltic stage marks a significant milestone in the delivery of the inner ring-road, which is expected to ease congestion in the city center once completed.
To manage the impact on local commuters, the construction team has adopted a phased approach. Site Engineer Kofi Kamkam explained that the company is currently focusing on one side of the dual carriageway at a time. This strategy is intended to keep traffic moving and minimize the level of disruption for motorists and pedestrians. Kamkam emphasized the contractor's commitment to delivering high-quality work within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining safety standards on-site.
Local residents and business owners along the route have expressed their cooperation despite the inevitable inconveniences associated with major roadworks. The project management team acknowledged concerns regarding dust and noise, pledging to implement measures to suppress dust and ensure a smoother construction process. The completion of the Sunyani Inner Ring-Road is anticipated to significantly enhance the local economy by reducing travel times and improving access to educational and commercial hubs.
