The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has successfully held the third session of its 18th Congregation, celebrating the academic achievements of 1,314 students from the Faculty of Management Studies. The graduating cohort includes 1,009 undergraduate students and 305 diploma recipients who have completed their various programmes of study. This session is part of a larger series of graduation ceremonies through which the university expects to graduate a total of 5,120 students across all its faculties and departments.
Vice-Chancellor Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, speaking at the event, urged the new alumni to distinguish themselves in the professional world through integrity and accountability. He emphasized that the transition from the classroom to the job market requires not just the knowledge gained from textbooks, but a commitment to ethical conduct and transparency. Professor Mawutor further encouraged the graduates to embrace continuous learning as a lifelong necessity to remain competitive and effective in a rapidly changing global landscape.
The Special Guest of Honour, Jacqueline Afful, shared significant insights on career advancement and the attitudes necessary for professional success. She cautioned the graduates that ambition alone is insufficient, noting that desire must be firmly coupled with discipline and a strong work ethic. She encouraged the graduands to remain adaptable and resilient, stressing that the ability to navigate challenges with excellence will define their long-term career trajectories in their chosen fields.
As the university concludes its graduation sessions, the focus remains on UPSA’s mission to produce industry-ready graduates capable of driving innovation and leadership within Ghana’s corporate sector. The management of the institution expressed confidence that this new group of professionals is well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to national development while upholding the high standards associated with the UPSA brand. The ceremony stands as a milestone for the Faculty of Management Studies as it continues to expand its reach in business education.
