Mr. Philemon Wein, the newly elected Nandom Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has formally committed to an open-door administration aimed at fostering unity within the party. Speaking during his first official meeting with the newly inaugurated constituency executive team, Mr. Wein emphasized that an inclusive leadership style is essential for the party’s long-term success. He called on all executives and party faithful to set aside internal grievances and collaborate to strengthen the NDC’s presence at the grassroots level, specifically in the Nandom area.
The primary objective of this unified front, according to Mr. Wein, is to ensure the NDC retains the Nandom parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections. Beyond the local seat, the Chairman highlighted the necessity of boosting the party's vote share for the presidential candidate to secure a decisive victory nationwide. He urged the new leadership to prioritize teamwork and mutual respect, noting that a disciplined and united front is the most effective tool for attracting new voters and maintaining the integrity of the NDC in the eyes of the electorate.
The meeting also featured contributions from other key officials, including the Constituency Secretary, Mr. Martin Neekure Dery. Mr. Dery echoed the Chairman’s sentiments, advising the executive body to approach their roles with humility and a service-oriented mindset. He stressed that the leadership's ability to remain accessible to the rank and file would be a determining factor in the party's ability to mobilize supporters effectively. This call for cohesion comes as the NDC begins its strategic organizational activities for the next election cycle, focusing on internal reconciliation and community engagement.
