The 2006 year group of the Old Mawuli Students Union (OMSU) has presented a significant consignment of educational equipment to Mawuli School to mark its 20th anniversary. The donation, which included 200 mono desks, five digital projectors, and five projector screens, was handed over during the group’s annual congress. The gesture is aimed at addressing infrastructure deficits and integrating modern technology into the classroom experience for current students, ensuring they have the necessary tools to excel in an increasingly digital academic environment.
The anniversary celebrations were not limited to physical donations but also featured a range of activities designed to inspire the student body. Mentorship sessions were led by prominent alumni, including Dr. Sussie Anku and Reverend John Bosco, who shared professional insights and life lessons with the students. These sessions formed a core part of the congress, alongside social gatherings and emotional reunions that allowed members of the 2006 cohort to reconnect and reflect on their personal and professional growth over the last two decades since leaving the institution.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the President of the OMSU 2006 year group, Ing. Desmond Fiakegbe, expressed his profound gratitude to his colleagues for their collective effort in supporting their alma mater. He emphasized that the group remains deeply committed to the school’s long-term development, noting that the provision of modern furniture and ICT equipment is essential for maintaining high educational standards. Fiakegbe also looked ahead to the future, stating that the group is already beginning preliminary preparations for its Silver Jubilee celebrations in 2031, which will focus on even more substantial infrastructure projects to benefit the school community.
