Mfantsipim School marked a historic milestone on October 31, 2026, by celebrating its 150th anniversary with a grand awards dinner at the Accra International Conference Centre. The event brought together distinguished alumni, staff, and partners to commemorate the school’s sesquicentennial and its foundational role in shaping leadership within Ghana. Beyond the celebration, the evening served as a strategic platform to raise funds for the institution's future infrastructure and academic development projects. The ceremony featured the presentation of several prestigious awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to the school and the nation. Alex Apau Dadey, the Chairman of the KGL Group, was prominently honoured with the Partner of Impact Award for his sustained support of the institution. Recognition was also extended to excellence across the school community, including awards for teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as alumni who have excelled in the arts and other professional sectors. Attendees participated in a fundraising auction designed to secure resources for upcoming school projects, ensuring that Mfantsipim continues to provide high-quality education for future generations. The atmosphere was further enriched by performances from local artists, blending cultural celebration with the academic milestone. Executive Secretary James Morgan highlighted the school’s enduring legacy during the event, noting its success in producing many of the most prominent figures in Ghana’s history and its ongoing commitment to excellence. As one of Ghana’s oldest and most prestigious secondary institutions, the 150th anniversary underscores Mfantsipim’s resilience and its central place in the country’s educational landscape. The funds raised during the anniversary dinner are expected to support critical upgrades to facilities and support services, positioning the school to navigate the challenges of modern education while maintaining the traditions that have defined its first century and a half.
