The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South, Manfred Tawiah, has commissioned the second phase of a 20-project development initiative aimed at enhancing essential infrastructure and social amenities across the district. These projects are designed to directly address longstanding challenges in basic service delivery, particularly regarding access to clean water and adequate housing for public sector workers in rural areas.
Key among the newly commissioned infrastructure are mechanised borehole water installations located in Goviefe Todzi, Have Atsiame, and Nyagbo Odumase. These installations are expected to significantly improve access to potable water for residents who have previously faced persistent shortages. In Liati Dzogbega, a similar water project was handed over to the community, where local residents used the occasion to further request the construction of a kindergarten school to enhance early childhood education accessibility.
In addition to the water projects, Mr. Tawiah inaugurated a new teachers’ bungalow in Tafi Mador. The facility was constructed to mitigate the accommodation difficulties faced by educators, which often serve as a barrier to staff retention and effective teaching in the district. According to the DCE, these initiatives underscore the District Assembly's dedication to responding to community-specific needs and improving the general quality of life for all residents within the Afadzato South District.
