Kofi Job Construction Limited has achieved a significant milestone by completing the first phase of the Tepa-Maban-Goaso road project 15 months ahead of its scheduled 24-month timeline. The 22-kilometre section, which runs from Maban toward the River Goa bridge, reached 93% completion just nine months after work began. This rapid progress marks a major step forward for the 39-kilometre total project, which is designed to improve connectivity between the Ashanti and Ahafo regions.
Project Director Kwabena Owusu Aduomi highlighted that the construction team overcame substantial environmental challenges to reach this stage. Specifically, the route includes several swampy areas that required specialized engineering to ensure long-term durability. To address this, the company implemented robust drainage systems alongside high-quality asphalt layering. Aduomi assured the public and government officials that these measures would protect the integrity of the road surface against heavy rainfall and soil saturation.
With the structural work on the first phase finished, the remaining tasks involve the installation of essential road safety features, such as signage and protective barriers. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Roads and Highways has initiated the process of seeking financial certification to trigger the commencement of the second phase of the project. This subsequent stage will extend the improvements from the River Goa bridge to Goaso, fulfilling the complete 39-kilometre scope of the infrastructure upgrade.
