Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Limited has officially launched 'Mmaa Mpuntuo,' a dedicated GH¢20 million financing solution designed to empower women entrepreneurs across the country. Developed in partnership with the Development Bank Ghana (DBG), the initiative is a cornerstone of the 'Advans Her' gender programme. The scheme aims to bridge the financing gap by providing much-needed working capital and investment funding to women-led businesses, facilitating their transition from small-scale operations to robust, sustainable enterprises.
The Mmaa Mpuntuo product is the result of extensive research and direct engagement with female clients to identify the unique barriers they face in the financial sector. To address these challenges, the scheme offers significantly lower interest rates compared to standard commercial loans and introduces flexible collateral requirements that better suit the realities of women's business ownership. Beyond financial assistance, beneficiaries will also receive comprehensive support services, including professional mentoring and business guidance, ensuring they have the tools necessary to manage their growth effectively.
The program is currently being rolled out in a pilot phase, which allows Advans Ghana to gather critical feedback and refine the product to better serve its target demographic. Eligibility is open to women entrepreneurs aged 18 and above who can demonstrate a clear plan for business expansion. Since its establishment in 2007, Advans Ghana has built a strong reputation for financial inclusion, currently serving over 157,000 clients through its network of 21 branches. This latest initiative reinforces the institution's commitment to gender-lens investing and its role in driving broader economic development in Ghana.
