The Greater Accra Regional Hospital (GARH), popularly known as Ridge Hospital, has launched a public appeal to help identify and locate the family of an unidentified female patient. The woman, who has been in the hospital's care for an unspecified period, was brought to the facility following a hit-and-run accident. Hospital authorities are calling on the general public to assist in reuniting the patient with her relatives to facilitate her long-term recovery and emotional well-being.
According to the hospital, the patient was initially treated at the Maamobi General Hospital before being referred to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital due to the severity of her condition. She sustained multiple fractures and other serious injuries after being knocked down by a vehicle and left at the scene. Since her admission, no family members or friends have come forward to claim her or inquire about her welfare, leaving her entirely under the care of the medical staff.
Despite the lack of family support or financial deposits, the hospital has continued to provide essential medical services to the patient. The facility's management confirmed that they have already covered the costs associated with her necessary surgeries and ongoing treatment. However, the hospital administration emphasized that while they can provide clinical care, the presence and support of family members are critical components of a patient’s holistic recovery process.
The hospital's management is urging anyone who may have a missing female relative or any information regarding the woman's identity to contact their Client Relationship Unit immediately. They have also requested that the public share the appeal across social media platforms and community networks to increase the chances of reaching her family. The hospital remains committed to the patient's care while they await a response from the public.
