The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has announced a postponement for the reopening of its College of Distance Education (CoDE) for the 2026 academic year. Originally scheduled for November 1, the resumption date for Level 100 students has now been shifted to November 23, 2026. This administrative adjustment specifically affects fresh students entering the university's distance learning programs across its various study centers.
According to university authorities, the three-week delay is intended to provide the institution with sufficient time to finalize admission processes. The extension ensures that all administrative requirements are met and that prospective students have their documentation fully processed before academic activities officially commence. The College of Distance Education has formally apologized to the affected students for any inconvenience caused by this change in the academic calendar and expressed appreciation for their patience.
Following the new reopening date, the university has scheduled a mandatory online orientation for all newly admitted Level 100 students. This orientation program will take place from November 23 to November 27, 2026. The sessions are designed to help new students adjust to academic procedures and familiarize themselves with the digital platforms and administrative protocols necessary for successful study within the distance education framework.
