The Ga-Dangme Youth Scholarship Fund, an initiative established by the Richard Nii Armah Quaye (RNAQ) Foundation in partnership with the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has provided scholarships to 115 high-achieving Ga-Dangme students. The program aims to bridge the financial gap for talented youth, enabling them to pursue various degree programmes at 23 different tertiary institutions across the country. By removing financial barriers, the fund seeks to ensure that academic merit remains the primary driver of success for the region's youth.
The selection process for the awards was highly competitive, with the 115 beneficiaries emerging from a pool of 1,689 applicants. According to the foundation, the majority of the selected students have maintained first-class academic standings, reflecting the fund's rigorous focus on rewarding excellence. During the presentation, Mr. Quaye emphasized the importance of academic commitment, stating that the initiative was born out of a desire to see brilliant students reach their full potential despite economic challenges.
Supporting this vision, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II highlighted the broader community implications of the scholarship scheme. He urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to excel and eventually give back to their communities post-graduation. The Ga Mantse noted that the development of the Ga-Dangme state depends on the cultivation of skilled professionals who are dedicated to local progress. Beneficiaries of the fund expressed deep gratitude for the support, noting that the scholarships provide significant financial relief that will allow them to focus exclusively on their academic pursuits.
