Additionally, the collaboration envisions training programs for UMaT faculty members to ensure that academic curricula remain aligned with current industry trends and technological advancements.
Discussions between the two institutions also highlighted the potential establishment of a Centre of Excellence. This facility would serve as a hub for high-level technical research and specialized skills development, further cementing the relationship between industry practitioners and the academic community. Professor Richard Amorin, representing the UMaT delegation, expressed appreciation for the NPA's commitment to engagement, noting that such partnerships are vital for producing graduates who are equipped to lead the sector.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward creating a sustainable pipeline of expertise for the downstream petroleum industry. By leveraging UMaT’s research capabilities and the NPA’s regulatory oversight, both organizations seek to drive efficiency and safety standards across the country. The move is expected to enhance the local content capacity of the industry, ensuring that Ghanaian professionals are at the forefront of petroleum innovation.
