The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially approved the schedule of filing fees for its upcoming national executive elections, setting the cost for aspirants seeking the National Chairman position at GH₵100,000. This decision, announced as part of the party's internal electoral roadmap, establishes the financial requirements for candidates across 14 distinct executive roles. The fee structure reflects the party's administrative costs and the scale of the national internal contest as it prepares to strengthen its leadership. Beyond the chairmanship, the fee for the General Secretary role has been fixed at GH₵80,000. Other key positions also carry significant costs, with aspirants for Deputy General Secretary and other deputy roles expected to pay between GH₵30,000 and GH₵60,000. The schedule also includes varied amounts for the positions of National Organiser and national communications officers, ensuring that all competitive slots within the national executive committee are accounted for in the budget. This structured approach aims to provide clarity to all prospective candidates ahead of the filing period. In an effort to promote inclusivity and broader participation within the party hierarchy, the NDC has introduced significant concessions for specific demographics. Female candidates and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be eligible for a 50% discount on the filing fees for most positions. However, the party clarified that this discount does not apply to the National Women’s Organiser positions, which are specifically reserved for female aspirants. This policy highlights the party's commitment to ensuring a diverse range of voices in its top decision-making bodies. To streamline the registration process and ensure transparency, the NDC has mandated that all filing fee payments be processed online through the party’s dedicated digital platform. This move towards digital financial management is intended to modernize the filing process and minimize administrative delays. The upcoming elections represent a critical phase in the party's internal governance and organizational strengthening as it continues its operations under the current administration of President John Mahama. Candidates are expected to comply with these guidelines to ensure a smooth transition and successful executive election.
