The Moreshet Foundation has officially joined the Private Foundations Constituency of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), a move designed to bolster its international educational initiatives and amplify African philanthropic voices on the world stage. By entering this strategic partnership, the foundation aims to play a more significant role in shaping global education policy and ensuring that the specific needs and perspectives of African communities are represented in international development discussions.
Representing the foundation at the recent constituency meeting were Madam Betty Akuffo-Amoabeng and Dr. Richard Boadu. During the event, the Moreshet Foundation leadership extended their congratulations to Lucy Lake and Dr. Andrew Cunningham, who were re-elected as the constituency’s leaders. The foundation emphasized that its membership in the GPE is a critical step toward fostering deeper collaboration between private philanthropic institutions and international development partners to address the growing challenges facing the education sector.
This new partnership aligns with the foundation’s overarching commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which advocates for inclusive and equitable quality education for all. Moving forward, the Moreshet Foundation intends to use its position within the GPE to advocate for sustainable educational reforms and to promote lifelong learning opportunities across the continent. This involvement signals an increased effort to bridge the gap between local philanthropic efforts and global educational governance.
