Member of Parliament for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has underscored a commitment to transforming the Keta Municipality through a series of strategic infrastructure projects. Speaking during the commissioning of a new classroom block at Atiavi Glime, Gakpey detailed ongoing initiatives focusing on healthcare, education, and transportation. These developments are designed to address critical service gaps and enhance the living standards of residents across the constituency.
In the health sector, the MP announced the construction of two new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds. These facilities are intended to bring primary healthcare closer to rural residents. Notably, the projects include dedicated accommodations for nursing staff, a move aimed at ensuring 24-hour service availability and attracting health professionals to the municipality. These interventions reflect a broader strategy to decentralize medical care and improve maternal and child health outcomes in the region.
Parallel to health improvements, Keta is seeing a surge in educational investment. With backing from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), several new facilities are being erected to replace dilapidated structures and expand enrollment capacity. The recently commissioned classroom at Atiavi Glime serves as a cornerstone of this effort. Gakpey emphasized that providing modern learning environments is essential for the academic success of the youth and the long-term development of the municipality.
Beyond social services, the MP is prioritizing the municipality’s road network to facilitate economic activities and improve connectivity. Gakpey revealed that he is actively collaborating with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to expedite development on key arterial routes. By integrating health, education, and transport infrastructure, the MP aims to create a more resilient and accessible Keta, fostering an environment where essential services are within reach for every constituent.
