Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a Senior Lawyer and advisor to President John Mahama, returned to her alma mater, St. Francis of Assisi Girls’ Senior High School in Jirapa, to celebrate the institution's 67th anniversary. Serving as the Special Guest for the event, Mogtari delivered a keynote address that highlighted the transformative power of education for young women. She used the platform to encourage current students to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits despite any challenges they may face.
During her address, Mogtari shared a candid account of her personal educational journey, specifically recounting how she once had to resit her O-Level examinations at the same school. She noted that this early setback did not define her future but rather served as a catalyst for her later achievements as a legal professional and high-level government advisor. By sharing this story, she aimed to inspire the students to dream boldly and understand that resilience and integrity are essential components of long-term success.
Mogtari also conveyed a message from President John Mahama, emphasizing the administration's ongoing commitment to expanding educational opportunities across the country. She stressed that the government recognizes the critical role of quality education in national development and is dedicated to ensuring that more students, particularly girls, have the resources they need to excel.
In her concluding remarks, Mogtari called upon the school's alumni to remain engaged with their alma mater and contribute to its future growth. She urged the students to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the school and to strive for excellence, reminding them that their education is the most powerful tool they have to shape their own lives and the future of Ghana.
