The Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) is set to launch a free internal shuttle service for patients on Monday, November 2, aiming to improve mobility within its facility. This service is specifically designed to assist patients who encounter difficulties navigating the hospital grounds when moving between various departments and wards. The initiative reflects the hospital's commitment to enhancing the quality of service delivery and ensuring that the physical environment does not hinder access to healthcare. The project will begin its operations with two tricycles provided through a donation from the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu. Dr. Hintermann K.K. Mbroh, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching Hospital, emphasized that the service will prioritize the elderly and vulnerable patients. He noted that the expansive nature of the hospital campus often presents significant challenges for those with physical limitations or those who are weakened by illness, making the walk from the main entrance to specific clinics or diagnostic centers a daunting task. Looking ahead, the hospital administration plans to evaluate the impact of the shuttle service and explore opportunities to expand the fleet to serve a larger number of patients. By removing the burden of walking long distances within the premises, the management believes it can significantly improve patient satisfaction and streamline movements across the facility. This introduction of internal transport aligns with ongoing efforts at the Ho Teaching Hospital to create a more patient-friendly environment that caters to the diverse needs of the community it serves.
