Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has presented tokens of appreciation to loyal customers in the Accra North Region to mark the 2026 Customer Service Week. The celebration, which took place from October 5 to October 9, aimed to acknowledge the consistency of long-standing clients while strengthening the relationship between the utility provider and the communities it serves. The initiative was designed to show gratitude for the partnership that exists between the company and its primary stakeholders.
During the week-long event, Regional Chief Manager Somuah Tenkorang personally engaged with several customers to thank them for their continued patronage and reliability in settling their bills. He explained that the initiative was part of a broader corporate effort to place the customer at the heart of the company’s operations. By rewarding those who maintain a clean payment record, GWL hopes to foster a culture of mutual respect and financial responsibility among its service users.
Beyond the presentation of awards, the regional management used the platform to advocate for more efficient payment methods. Tenkorang highlighted the convenience of the company’s digital channels, specifically the *1010# USSD platform and the GWL Customer App. He urged consumers to transition to these electronic systems to ensure real-time bill settlement, which helps avoid the accumulation of debt and prevents the need for service disconnections.
The regional office emphasized that maintaining a reliable water supply depends significantly on the revenue generated from prompt payments. By encouraging digital adoption, GWL aims to reduce the administrative burden of physical billing and collection, allowing the company to focus more on infrastructure maintenance and service delivery across the Accra North Region. The company intends for these digital improvements to provide a more seamless experience for all its customers going forward.
