Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has officially rewarded its loyal customers within the Accra North Region as part of the 2026 Customer Service Week celebrations. Held from October 5 to 9, the initiative aimed to express gratitude to dedicated consumers while strengthening the partnership between the utility provider and the communities it serves. The regional leadership used the occasion to highlight the critical role that consistent bill payments play in ensuring the sustainability of water supply services across the country.
Somuah Tenkorang, the Regional Chief Manager for Accra North, led the engagement drive, personally interacting with several customers and presenting them with tokens of appreciation. During these interactions, Tenkorang emphasized that the company relies heavily on the revenue generated from prompt payments to maintain and expand its vast water infrastructure. He noted that the celebration was not merely a formality but a strategic effort to build a more transparent and mutually beneficial relationship with the public.
To simplify the payment process and reduce the incidence of accumulated debt, GWL urged its customers to fully embrace the company's digital payment platforms. Tenkorang specifically pointed to the *1010# USSD service and the GWL Customer App as efficient tools for managing accounts in real-time. By utilizing these mobile-based channels, customers can pay their bills from any location, thereby avoiding the inconvenience of service disconnections and the burden of large outstanding balances.
The week-long celebration reflects a broader commitment by Ghana Water Limited to improve its customer experience through proactive communication and digital innovation. As the utility provider continues to modernize its operations under the current administration of President John Mahama, the focus remains on ensuring that infrastructure developments keep pace with the growing demand for clean water. Management indicated that such outreach programs would continue to be a priority to ensure that the concerns of consumers are addressed promptly and effectively.
