Fanaka International University College (FIUC) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI) to boost professional development for its postgraduate students. The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is specifically designed to enhance the training of students enrolled in the Master of Science in Finance programme. By bridging the gap between theoretical academic frameworks and practical industry requirements, the initiative aims to produce graduates who are better prepared for the complexities of the modern financial sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, FIUC will provide its educational platform and academic resources, while GISI contributes its extensive industry expertise and resources. A primary objective of the partnership is to align the university’s curriculum with the prevailing standards of the capital market industry. This alignment ensures that students gain relevant, hands-on understanding of financial markets and are equipped with the skills necessary to navigate them effectively. The collaboration will also focus on critical contemporary areas, including corporate governance and digital finance.
The partnership also opens significant doors for international professional recognition. Through GISI’s existing relationship with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in the United Kingdom, students at FIUC will have clearer pathways to obtaining internationally recognised qualifications. This connection to a global framework is intended to enhance the employability of Ghanaian finance graduates on the international stage. By integrating these professional standards into the academic journey, the two institutions are working to create a more robust talent pipeline for the Ghanaian capital market and the broader financial services industry.
