Ecobank Group has announced a profit before tax of $737 million for the first nine months of 2026, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period the previous year. The group’s net revenue also rose by 12% to reach $2.0 billion. This financial performance was driven by a combination of effective operational strategies, growth in customer deposits, and sustained investments in technology across its pan-African network.
The bank’s financial results highlight a focus on efficiency, with the cost-to-income ratio improving to 47.8%, surpassing its internal targets. This achievement comes despite significant macroeconomic challenges across the continent, including high inflation, foreign exchange volatility, and slower economic growth in certain regions. The group also managed to maintain stability in its credit portfolio, reporting a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio of 7.5%.
In addition to its financial milestones, the group marked its 40th anniversary, Ecobank@40, by pledging a US$2.6 billion commitment to support women-owned businesses and the agricultural sector. The institution's performance and regional influence were further recognized during this period with several industry awards, including the title of Best Bank in Africa 2026. The group’s diversified business model remains a key factor in its ability to deliver growth and support economic development across its diverse markets.
