The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a three-day schedule of planned power outages across several communities in the Accra West Region. The interruptions, which are slated to begin on Monday, October 12, and conclude on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, are necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work on the power grid. According to the utility provider, the outages will occur daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The maintenance schedule targets specific areas on different days to minimize widespread disruption. On Monday, October 12, the outage will primarily affect Mile 7 Estates and the Caledonia Hotel area. This will be followed on Tuesday, October 13, by interruptions at the Ameriya Last Stop and its immediate environs. The final day of the scheduled works, Wednesday, October 14, will impact Tabora Nos. 3, 4, and 5, along with surrounding neighborhoods.
In its official communication, the ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience these planned interruptions will cause to its customers. The company has urged residents and business owners in the affected communities to take note of the schedule and make the necessary preparations to mitigate the impact of the eight-hour daily outages. These routine maintenance activities are part of the ECG’s broader strategy to enhance the reliability of the distribution network and prevent more significant unplanned outages in the future.
Residents in the Accra West Region are encouraged to follow the company’s updates through official channels for any changes to the schedule. The ECG remains committed to improving power supply stability across the capital, noting that such targeted interventions are critical for the long-term health of the electricity infrastructure in high-density residential and commercial zones.
