Two security guards, identified as watchmen at the institution, have been interdicted and placed in police custody as investigations proceed. The Ministry, under the direction of Minister Haruna Iddrisu, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the victim's boarding status and mandated comprehensive medical and psychological support for her recovery. GES Public Relations Head, Daniel Fenyi, described the incident as deeply disturbing, particularly noting that the student was on medication and had suffered a relapse at the time of the alleged assault.

Civil society organizations and parent groups have reacted with sharp condemnation, calling for a systemic overhaul of the nation's school safeguarding framework. The National Council of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTAs) praised the initial arrests but demanded full accountability and the implementation of mandatory child protection training for all school staff.
