The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three individuals allegedly belonging to an outlaw motorcycle gang that has been terrorizing residents in the Breman-Kronum-Suame area. The suspects, identified as 23-year-old Sharif Mahmud, 25-year-old Abdallah Karim, and 25-year-old James Alena, were taken into custody on November 1, 2026, following a targeted operation. This action responds to increasing reports of lawlessness and public unrest linked to motorcycle groups within the region. The group is specifically accused of a range of criminal activities, including armed robbery and illegal motorcycle racing. These actions have reportedly created a climate of fear among the people of Breman, Kronum, and Suame, as riders often perform dangerous maneuvers and engage in criminal behavior under the guise of group activities. Local authorities highlighted that the gang's presence had become a significant threat to the security and peace of the local communities. Following their arrest, the three suspects were granted police inquiry bail as the investigation into their activities continues. However, the operation was not entirely exhaustive, as several other members of the gang managed to evade the police and escape the scene. The Ashanti Regional Police Command is now calling on the general public to assist with information that could lead to the location and arrest of these remaining fugitives. This crackdown is seen as a vital step in addressing the menace of motorcycle-related crime in the Ashanti Region. By targeting these organized groups, the police aim to deter future illegal racing and robbery activities, ensuring that residents can move freely without the threat of intimidation or violence from outlaw gangs.
