Dr. Divine Selase Agbeti, the Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, has called on the latest cohort of graduates from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to prioritize a positive attitude and a commitment to lifelong learning as they enter the workforce. Speaking at the university’s 18th Congregation, Dr. Agbeti emphasized that while academic qualifications are essential, it is the personal disposition and the willingness to continue growing that ultimately define a successful career path in today's competitive environment.
During his keynote address, the Cyber Security Authority head advised the new alumni to treat their hard-earned certificates as gateways to opportunities rather than the final destination. He encouraged them to take full ownership of their professional tasks and to remain resilient despite the challenges of a crowded job market. Dr. Agbeti further underscored the value of mentorship and patience, urging the graduates to seek guidance from experienced professionals as they navigate the complexities of their chosen fields to ensure steady career progression.
The Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor J.K.M. Mawutor, also spoke at the ceremony, echoing the call for graduates to look beyond mere employment. He challenged the congregation to leverage the specialized knowledge they acquired during their studies to provide solutions for societal problems, contributing meaningfully to national development. The ceremony also served as a platform to celebrate academic excellence, notably honoring Atsu Edem Nancy, who was named the Best Graduating Student after achieving an impressive Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.93.
