Absa Bank Ghana has introduced a new digital instant loan solution specifically designed for eligible salaried customers. This initiative allows borrowers to access up to GH₵350,000 without the traditional requirements of collateral or a guarantor. The product is aimed at simplifying the borrowing process, providing a faster alternative to conventional loan applications that often involve lengthy paperwork and physical visits to bank branches.
The bank's new offering is built on a pre-approved model, where eligible customers can view their loan limits through various digital touchpoints. These platforms include the Absa Mobile App, internet banking portals, and the bank's network of ATMs. By integrating these services into existing digital infrastructure, the bank aims to ensure that customers can secure financial support at their convenience, regardless of their location or the time of day.
Charles Addo, the Director of Personal and Private Banking at Absa Bank Ghana, highlighted that the launch is part of a broader commitment to responsive banking. He noted that the solution is designed to align with the daily lives of customers by offering a seamless and digitally-enabled experience. This move reflects a growing trend in the Ghanaian financial sector toward automation and the reduction of barriers to credit for formal sector workers.
This digital expansion is expected to provide immediate liquidity for salaried professionals facing urgent financial needs while enhancing the bank's retail footprint. By removing the need for guarantors and collateral, Absa Bank Ghana is positioning itself to leverage technology to streamline credit risk assessment and disbursement in an increasingly competitive digital banking market.
