Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has announced that Accra will host the continental Afro-Gastro cultural festival from December 9 to 12, 2026. The four-day event is expected to bring together various stakeholders from across the African continent to celebrate shared heritage and artistic excellence in the heart of Ghana.

The program is set to feature a vibrant lineup that includes fashion shows, musical performances, film screenings, and theatre productions. This multifaceted approach is designed to showcase the full depth of African creativity and provide a strategic platform for regional integration through the arts and culture.
Minister Gomashie shared the details of the upcoming event during the Black Star Fashion Week, emphasizing the government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a central hub for continental cultural exchange. By hosting the Afro-Gastro festival, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture seeks to further the goals of pan-African unity and boost the creative economy through international tourism and collaborative artistic ventures.
