The sixth edition of the Western Gospel Awards (WGA) is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. Organised by Prolific GH in collaboration with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), the event serves as a platform to recognise and honour gospel musicians and industry stakeholders who have significantly contributed to the growth of gospel music within the Western Region and across the country.
The awards night promises a high-profile lineup of performances, featuring renowned gospel artists such as Akesse Brimpong and Kofi Karikari. They will be joined on stage by Esther Godwyll, Yvonne Menz, and international guest performer Deborah McKay from South Africa. The event is structured to begin with a Blue Carpet reception at 5:00 p.m., allowing guests and nominees to showcase their style before the main awards ceremony officially commences at 7:00 p.m.
Now in its sixth year, the Western Gospel Awards has grown into a significant fixture in the regional entertainment calendar, focusing on the celebration of creativity and spiritual impact through music. By partnering with MUSIGA, the organisers aim to ensure professional standards and broader industry recognition for the talents emerging from the region. The upcoming ceremony is expected to highlight the diversity of the gospel genre and the evolving landscape of the music industry in Ghana's Western Region.
