Twene Amanfo Senior High Technical School (TASHTS) in Sunyani held its annual two-day sporting festival on October 28 and 29, 2026, to officially welcome its newest cohort of first-year students. The event, which transformed the campus into a vibrant mini-carnival, was designed to integrate freshers into the school community while promoting physical fitness and school spirit.
Students from a wide range of academic departments, including General Arts, Science, Home Economics, Business, Visual Arts, and Technical, competed in various disciplines such as football, athletics, volleyball, and table tennis. Unlike standard competitive meets, the school's Physical Education Department focused heavily on talent identification. The festival provided a platform for staff to spot potential not only in athletes but also in students with interests in sports commentary, refereeing, and coaching.
The festival served as a crucial socialization tool, helping new students adjust to their new academic environment through teamwork and healthy competition. Continuing students joined the festivities to cheer on the freshers, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie across the campus. Following the conclusion of the games, school authorities indicated that the identified talents will be nurtured for upcoming inter-house and inter-school sports competitions.
