The Twelve Tribes of Israel (TTI) Ghana Chapter has announced a major celebration to commemorate its 40th anniversary on December 6, 2026. Set to take place at the Arts Centre in Accra, the milestone event marks four decades of the organization’s presence in Ghana since its establishment in 1986. The anniversary serves as a tribute to the group's enduring commitment to cultural preservation and social justice, highlighting the significant role the Rastafari community has played in the nation’s social and cultural fabric.
The celebration is expected to be a high-profile cultural event, featuring a blend of international and local musical talent. Renowned international reggae artists Micah Shemaiah and Patrick Junior are scheduled to headline the concert alongside a diverse array of local reggae and highlife performers. Beyond the music, the anniversary program incorporates significant social responsibility initiatives, including a planned donation to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison and a youth soccer challenge designed to engage the younger generation in community building.
Overseer Ahuma Bosco Ocansey emphasized that the 40th-anniversary festivities are intended to honor the Rastafari movement’s contributions to national development. Ocansey noted that the organization’s advocacy work aligns with the broader national discourse on justice and heritage, referencing recent remarks by President John Dramani Mahama regarding the legacy of history and the pursuit of social justice. By combining artistic expression with community service, the Twelve Tribes of Israel Ghana Chapter aims to reinforce its legacy of advocacy and cultural identity as it looks toward its next decade of service.
