Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Stonebwoy has officially moved the annual BHIM Festival to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium for its upcoming edition. The shift in venue reflects a strategic decision by the artist’s management to accommodate specific production requirements and enhance the overall experience for attendees. This announcement confirms that the festival, which is one of the most anticipated events on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar, will not be returning to its previous location at the Accra Sports Stadium this year.
Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, the publicist for Stonebwoy, clarified the reasons behind the move, emphasizing that the BHIM Festival does not maintain a permanent home. According to Boateng, the choice of venue is fluid and is determined annually based on the creative vision and technical demands of the specific edition. By opting for the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon, the organizers aim to leverage the facility's modern infrastructure to meet the high production standards set for the festival's latest installment.
The publicist further noted that the flexibility in location allows the brand to evolve and provide diverse atmospheres for fans. While past editions have drawn massive crowds to the Accra Sports Stadium, the move signals a willingness to explore different venues across the capital or the country in the future. As preparations continue, the shift to the Legon-based stadium is expected to offer a fresh perspective for the festival, which remains a cornerstone of the Ghanaian music scene and a major draw for international visitors.
