Prominent Ghanaian actor and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died at the age of 51 after collapsing during a live radio discussion on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at Owass FM in Tarkwa while the entertainer was participating in the station's morning programme, Oman Nkosuo. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. According to the show's host, Prince Kwaw Gyimah, Dzokoto had driven himself to the studio and appeared to be in good spirits before joining the panel. Video footage from the broadcast reportedly showed the late actor discussing national issues, specifically critiques regarding the previous administration of former President Nana Akufo-Addo, shortly before he collapsed on-air. A source close to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) confirmed the news of his passing, which has since sent shockwaves through the entertainment and political communities. Dzokoto was a versatile figure in Ghanaian public life, widely celebrated for his comedic talent and broadcast career. He gained national fame for his role as Judge Koboo in the long-running television series Efiewura and was the face of the popular food programme Edziban. Beyond his media work, he was an active member of the NDC and contested for the parliamentary seat in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency during the 2016 general elections. His last major public appearance took place just weeks earlier on September 8, 2026, at Omanye Hall within the Labadi Beach Hotel. He had attended the launch of The 70 Slate, a collaborative film project by Sparrow Studios and OldFilm Productions, headed by filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso. The Ghanaian creative industry has begun mourning the loss of a man known for his wit and charisma, though funeral arrangements and the official cause of death are yet to be announced by his family.
