Samuel Sowah Oblejumah has been elected as the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, securing a decisive victory in the party's 2026 executive elections. Oblejumah garnered 806 votes from delegates, positioning him to lead the constituency as the party reorganises its local structures. His election marks a transition in leadership aimed at revitalising the NDC's presence and effectiveness within this key Greater Accra constituency.
In his acceptance address, the newly elected chairman outlined a vision centered on modernising the party's administrative framework. Oblejumah pledged to integrate corporate governance principles into the constituency’s management, focusing on enhancing operational performance and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. By adopting professional management practices, he intends to transform La Dadekotopon into one of the most efficiently run constituencies within the NDC.
Beyond administrative reforms, Oblejumah emphasised the necessity of internal cohesion. He extended a hand of cooperation to his former rivals and urged all members to set aside past differences to focus on the party's collective interests. He expressed his gratitude to the delegates for their confidence and stated that his leadership would be collaborative, working closely with all elected executives to strengthen the party's grassroots support.
The executive elections also saw several other key appointments made to the constituency leadership. Edward Atsu Dela-Seshie was elected as the Vice-Chairman, while Jeffrey Addokwei Tetteh secured the position of Secretary. Together, this new executive team is tasked with implementing Oblejumah’s reform agenda and preparing the constituency for future electoral challenges, with a primary focus on maintaining a unified and innovative political front.
