The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has visited Akoefe Gadza to inspect a rural telephony site that is nearing completion. This visit serves as a key component of the government's ongoing strategy to enhance telecommunications connectivity in underserved regions. The project aims to provide reliable internet and mobile services, addressing the persistent digital divide that has historically limited opportunities in rural communities.
During his visit, Mr. Nartey George assured residents that the government is actively working to resolve connectivity issues. He noted that the telephony site is expected to significantly improve network coverage in the area as early as this weekend. The Minister acknowledged the consistent advocacy from local leaders for improved services and underscored that these infrastructure initiatives are part of a holistic development plan. He highlighted that the government’s efforts would eventually encompass other essential services, including roads and water, to ensure the community's overall growth.
Looking forward, the Minister promised that broader telecommunications improvements would be implemented across the country by the end of the year. This expansion is designed to facilitate better access to digital tools, which are essential for modern education, business, and healthcare. By prioritizing infrastructure in areas like Akoefe Gadza, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations aims to ensure that all citizens, regardless of their location, can participate in Ghana's digital transformation.
