Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, has commended Ghana for its impactful participation in the 18th International Arts and Handicraft Trade Show (SIAO 2026). Speaking during the celebration of 'Ghana Day' on November 3, 2026, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Ghana's presence at the biennial event, which serves as one of Africa's premier platforms for artisans and cultural exchange. The Prime Minister noted that Ghana’s involvement showcased the country's rich cultural heritage and superior craftsmanship to an international audience. The 'Ghana Day' festivities provided a dedicated space for Ghanaian artisans to exhibit their work, ranging from traditional textiles and pottery to modern interpretations of West African art. Ouédraogo emphasized that such exhibitions are vital for preserving the region's artistic identity while opening up new markets for local entrepreneurs. Beyond the display of crafts, the Prime Minister underscored the diplomatic significance of the event, calling for a deeper friendship between Ghana and Burkina Faso. He stressed that strengthening bilateral ties through cultural and economic exchange is essential for the mutual growth of both nations. The 18th edition of SIAO continues to foster regional integration, using the arts as a bridge to enhance cooperation and shared prosperity within the West African sub-region.
