The Royal Ofosu-Pema Aduana Family of Osenase has formally called for the immediate suspension of the 2026 Osenase Homecoming, scheduled to take place from October 12 to 18. This demand stems from a lingering chieftaincy dispute that has created instability within the traditional area. The family leadership, led by Queen Mother Obaapanin Acheampomaa II and Abusuapanin Kofi Danso, insists that the event cannot proceed without their formal endorsement and the proper resolution of stool succession issues.
According to the family leaders, the homecoming event is being organized by unauthorized parties without the requisite approval from the royal household. Central to the conflict is the status of the Osenase Stool; the Queen Mother and the Family Head clarified that while the current chief is currently indisposed, he has not abdicated his position. They emphasized that no successor has been legally or traditionally installed, and holding the festivities under the current circumstances would undermine the authority of the stool and the traditional protocols of the area.
The situation is further complicated by ongoing legal proceedings regarding the succession dispute. The Royal Ofosu-Pema Aduana Family has urged local authorities, security agencies, and the general public to distance themselves from the planned homecoming to maintain peace. They maintain that any public celebration must wait until the stool's status is officially resolved through the appropriate traditional and legal channels to prevent potential clashes within the community.
