Nana Kwame Agyemang Opambuor has been enstooled as the new chief of Bomfa in the Ashanti Region, marking the end of a protracted eight-year chieftaincy dispute that had stalled local governance. The enstoolment ceremony, conducted by the town's kingmakers and witnessed by the Juabenhene, signals a new era for the community as they seek to move past years of leadership instability. Nana Opambuor succeeds the former chief, Nana Opoku Acheampong, whose tenure ended following his destoolment over concerns regarding accountability.
In his inaugural address, Nana Opambuor pledged to uphold the dignity of the stool and committed himself to the service of his people. He emphasized that his primary goal is to foster unity among the residents of Bomfa, which he believes is the foundation for any meaningful progress. The new chief expressed his readiness to work with all stakeholders to ensure that the community catches up on the development it missed during the years of the chieftaincy vacuum.
The new traditional ruler outlined an ambitious development agenda focused on essential infrastructure and social services. Among his top priorities are the establishment of a local police station to improve security and the construction of a senior high school to enhance educational opportunities for the youth. Additionally, Nana Opambuor promised to work toward upgrading existing health facilities in Bomfa to ensure that residents have access to quality medical care without having to travel long distances.
Addressing the youth of the area, Nana Opambuor urged them to channel their energies into productive ventures and avoid social vices such as drug abuse and violence. He reminded them that the future of Bomfa depends on their discipline and contribution to the community's growth. The ceremony concluded with a call for all citizens, both at home and abroad, to support the new leadership in its quest to transform the town into a hub of development within the Ashanti Region.
