OmniBSIC Bank Ghana Limited has been honored with the African Banking Excellence Award for Growth, Innovation, and Customer Value at a global leadership forum in New York. The recognition was conferred at the 12th International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL 2026), held on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. This prestigious accolade celebrates financial institutions that demonstrate exceptional performance in asset growth, technological innovation, and superior customer service delivery across the continent. The award highlights a period of significant financial expansion for the bank, which reported a 104 percent surge in profit before tax to GH₵641 million for the 2025 financial year. During the same period, OmniBSIC's total assets climbed to GH₵21.58 billion, while customer deposits reached GH₵16.56 billion. Managing Director Daniel Asiedu attributed these results to the bank's OmniBSIC 5.0 strategic initiative, which prioritizes technology-driven growth and deepened customer engagement to compete on a global scale. Speaking on the recognition, Mr. Asiedu described the honor as a testament to the bank's ambitious Ghanaian roots and its unwavering commitment to innovation. He noted that the bank’s digital transformation has been a cornerstone of its recent success, allowing it to provide tailored value to its diverse client base. The bank’s track record of excellence was further underscored by its history of accolades, including being named SME Bank of the Year in 2024 and maintaining several years of recognition as the Best Corporate Bank in Ghana. In a related development at the forum, Daniel Asiedu was also granted Honorary Citizenship of the City of Stonecrest, Georgia, in the United States. This honor was awarded in recognition of his leadership and his efforts to foster economic relations between Ghana and the diaspora. As OmniBSIC Bank continues to implement its 5.0 strategy, the institution aims to leverage its strong capital base and technological infrastructure to sustain its growth trajectory within the West African sub-region and beyond.
