The preliminary stages of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) have delivered intense competition and late-stage drama, as Osino Presby SHTS and Chemu SHTS both staged remarkable comebacks to secure their places in the One-Eighth stage. Both contests saw initial leaders lose their footing in the final rounds, highlighting the high-pressure environment of the national competition. While Osino Presby capitalized on a late-round surge to overtake their opponents, Chemu SHTS required a nail-biting tiebreaker to claim their victory in one of the most closely contested matches of the preliminary series.

In a heartbreaking turn of events for Aggrey Memorial SHS, the school saw its early dominance evaporate during the final rounds of their contest against Osino Presby SHTS.
