Former Ada East Assemblyman Noah Dogah Reveals Origins of Viral 'Go and Ask Your Grandfather' Video

Noah Dogah, the former Assemblyman for Ada East, has finally shared the full story behind the viral phrase "Go and ask your grandfather," which turned him into an internet sensation in Ghana. The remark, which has been widely used in memes and social media commentary, stems from a confrontation during a ballot-box incident that was captured on camera. Dogah's recent clarification provides a deeper look into the moment he transitioned from a local political figure to a recognizable face in digital pop culture.

According to Dogah, the incident was sparked by a disagreement over electoral procedures at a polling station. During the heated exchange, he was questioned in a manner he found provocative, leading to his spontaneous and now-iconic retort. He explained that the phrase was a direct reaction to the circumstances at the time, intended to dismiss the line of questioning by invoking a reference to ancestral knowledge or family history. This sharp-witted response resonated with audiences across the country, leading to the video going viral on various social media platforms.

The enduring popularity of the "Go and ask your grandfather" video underscores the power of social media to immortalize brief moments of political or social tension. For Dogah, while the incident was initially a serious matter involving local governance and election integrity, its legacy has largely shifted toward entertainment. By providing the context behind the video, Dogah has closed a chapter of speculation, allowing the public to understand the reality of the situation while continuing to enjoy the cultural impact of his unintentional contribution to Ghanaian internet humor.
