The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South has officially commissioned a new six-unit classroom block at the Asunkwaa M/A Primary School in the Bono East Region. Funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), the project marks the end of decades of severe overcrowding that had long hampered the quality of education in the community. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and providing a more conducive learning environment for students in rural areas.
Prior to the completion of this modern facility, the school faced a critical shortage of space, with some classrooms accommodating as many as 90 pupils at once. This extreme congestion created significant challenges for both teachers and learners, making individual attention difficult and hindering academic performance. The new classroom block is designed to alleviate these pressures, significantly reducing the student-to-teacher ratio and ensuring that both students and educators have the space necessary for effective teaching and learning.
During the commissioning ceremony, community leaders and school officials expressed their gratitude for the new infrastructure, describing it as a symbol of hope and progress for the Asunkwaa township. Officials at the event emphasized the collective responsibility of the community in ensuring the longevity of the facility. They urged school authorities and local residents to adopt a strict maintenance culture so that the new building can continue to serve and benefit future generations of students in the Nkoranza South constituency.
