Employees from across the Ninani Group's six marketing communications agencies recently stepped away from their desks to participate in the company’s annual wellness programme. The event, which has become a staple of the organization’s corporate culture over the last six years, is designed to promote physical fitness, mental rejuvenation, and team bonding among staff. By creating a space for physical activity outside the traditional office environment, the group aims to combat the sedentary nature of the marketing industry while fostering stronger interpersonal relationships between colleagues.
This year’s programme featured a diverse range of activities, including a scenic health walk through the Ibri Mountains, football matches, racing, and table tennis. Justin Antwi-Darkwa, Chief Operating Officer at Results Advertising (a Ninani Group subsidiary), emphasized that the initiative provides a vital break from the high-pressure demands of the industry. He noted that employees had been preparing for the event weeks in advance by adopting healthier lifestyle habits and physical training, reflecting a growing internal culture of health consciousness that extends beyond the one-day event.
Human Resources representative Akosua Aworae Apau highlighted the specific health challenges faced by professionals in desk-bound roles, noting that regular physical activity is essential for long-term productivity and personal health. The wellness day was supported by corporate partners including Myst Water and Beta Malt, whose contributions helped facilitate the various competitive games and social sessions. Leadership observed that the event serves as a critical platform for staff from different agencies within the group to reconnect and align their values outside of formal work assignments.
Looking ahead, the Ninani Group plans to expand the scope of its wellness initiatives by inviting corporate clients to participate in future events. This strategic move is intended to share the benefits of workplace wellness with a broader network and encourage other organizations in Ghana to prioritize the physical and mental health of their workforce. By positioning health as a core business value, the Ninani Group hopes to set a standard for corporate excellence and employee care across the marketing and communications sector.
