Hearts of Oak head coach Nebojsa Kapor has been shortlisted for the NASCO Coach of the Month award for October, following an impressive run of form in the Ghana Premier League. Kapor is joined on the three-man shortlist by Joseph Agyeman of Swedru All Blacks and Tanko Ibrahim of Medeama SC. The nominations recognize the tactical excellence and consistency demonstrated by these managers during the matches played throughout the month.
Kapor’s nomination comes on the back of a near-perfect defensive record for the Phobians. Under his guidance, Hearts of Oak remained unbeaten in October, recording three victories and one draw. Most notably, the team’s defense was impenetrable, ending the month without conceding a single goal. This defensive discipline has been a hallmark of Kapor's recent tenure as he seeks to restore the club's competitive edge in the domestic league.
Competing for the honor are Joseph Agyeman and Tanko Ibrahim, both of whom oversaw strong performances for their respective clubs. Agyeman led Swedru All Blacks to three wins and one defeat, with his side netting six goals while conceding three. Similarly, Medeama SC's Tanko Ibrahim guided his team to an identical record of three wins and one loss, with his players also scoring six times and allowing three goals against them.
The winner of the prestigious award will receive a prize package from Electroland Ghana Limited, the official sponsors of the monthly accolade. These awards are part of the Ghana Football Association's initiative to celebrate individual brilliance and motivate technical staff within the top-flight league. As the competition heats up, the recognition serves as a testament to the tactical improvements being made across various clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
