NDC mourns death of actor and politician Seth Kwame Dzokoto

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed deep sadness following the passing of Seth Kwame Dzokoto, a celebrated television personality and dedicated party member. Widely known for his iconic role in the "Efiewura" television series, Dzokoto was a prominent figure in the Western Region's political and media landscape. The party’s regional branch acknowledged his death during a radio discussion, describing his loss as a significant blow to the NDC family and the broader creative arts community in Ghana.

Dzokoto’s commitment to the NDC was evidenced by his active participation in grassroots politics and communications. He previously served as the Deputy Constituency Communications Officer for Tarkwa-Nsuaem and represented the party as its parliamentary candidate for the same constituency during the 2016 general elections. Party officials highlighted his unique ability to connect with the electorate through humor and relatable language, which made him a powerful communicator for the party’s policies and ideals.

In addition to his political service, the party noted the personal support Dzokoto received from high-ranking leadership during his health challenges. In 2023, President John Mahama provided financial assistance for Dzokoto to undergo medical treatment abroad. While the treatment initially resulted in a successful recovery, his eventual passing has left a void in the party’s communications machinery. The Western Region NDC emphasized that his dedication to political discourse and his ability to engage audiences would continue to serve as an inspiration for future party communicators.

The party is expected to participate in the funeral arrangements to honor the memory of the man affectionately known by many as "Efiewura."
