The family of Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo has officially notified the Presidency of the upcoming funeral arrangements for her twin brothers, Dr. Isaac Akuetteh Bampoe Addo and Sidney Nii Oko Bampoe Addo. The brothers passed away within weeks of each other, with Dr. Isaac passing on August 22 and Sidney on September 14, 2026. The formal notification to the seat of government marks the commencement of the final burial rites for the two siblings.
According to the family, a joint funeral service will be held on November 7, 2026, at the State House in Accra. This will be followed by two separate memorial services scheduled for November 8 and November 15, providing an opportunity for the public and government officials to pay their final respects. The family delegation, in their meeting with government representatives, extended a formal invitation to the Presidency and the wider public to join them in honoring the lives of the deceased.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Presidency, Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Debrah expressed profound condolences to Nana Oye Bampoe Addo and her relatives during this period of double bereavement. Dr. Debrah particularly highlighted the significant contributions made by Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo to Ghana's labor movement, noting that his dedication to industrial relations had left a lasting impact on the nation's professional landscape.
The loss of the Bampoe Addo twins has resonated across both political and professional circles in Ghana. As the family prepares for the November ceremonies at the State House, the government has signaled its intention to support the Deputy Chief of Staff and her family through the burial process, reflecting the high esteem in which the brothers were held.
