The Kenyase District Police Headquarters in the Ashanti Region has received a significant logistical boost following the donation of two brand new vehicles by Nana Kwadwo Boateng, popularly known as Dumgya Komfo. The donation is specifically aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the police force within the district, ensuring that officers are better equipped to respond to emergencies and maintain law and order. This gesture comes at a critical time when the local police service is seeking to strengthen its presence and improve its response times to security challenges in the area.
The donation consists of two vehicles: one dedicated to the district police commander and another specifically designated for the patrol team. During the official handover ceremony, Nana Kwadwo Boateng emphasized the necessity of the contribution, noting that the existing vehicle used by the command was in a state of disrepair and no longer fit for purpose. He expressed his commitment to supporting the Ghana Police Service, highlighting that public safety is a collective responsibility that requires the active involvement of community members and local leaders to be truly effective.
Receiving the donation, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Arthur Osei Akoto, expressed profound gratitude for Boateng’s continued support of the police service. COP Akoto noted that the addition of these vehicles would significantly improve police visibility and mobility, which are vital components of modern proactive policing. Baffour Akwasi Amoateng III, the Kenyase Akwamuhene, also praised the donor for his dedication to community and national development, urging other prominent citizens to follow suit in supporting essential public services.
As the new vehicles are integrated into the district's fleet, the donor urged the police officers to ensure they are properly maintained to prolong their operational lifespan. This donation serves as a notable example of how private-public partnerships can enhance national security by complementing government efforts to provide a safe and secure environment. The enhanced mobility provided by these vehicles is expected to foster a stronger sense of security and trust among the residents of Kenyase and its surrounding communities.
