Muslim Woman Critiques Akuapem Poloo's Church Attendance Amid Conversion Controversy

Xandy Kamel fires back at critics over ex-husband's birthday comments

Ghanaian actress Xandy Kamel has issued a sharp response to critics who questioned her decision to reveal intimate and painful details of her past marriage during a recent interview. Kamel's rebuttal follows a significant wave of public backlash after she shared a deeply personal account of a traumatic day in her life, where she reportedly balanced the emotional weight of a funeral with the demands of her marriage. The controversy began when Kamel disclosed in an interview that she had celebrated her ex-husband’s birthday on the very same day she was burying her first son. This revelation drew intense scrutiny and what the actress described as "unsolicited advice" from social media users and commentators. Many observers argued that such private matters should remain out of the public domain, while others criticized the decision to celebrate a birthday during a period of mourning. Addressing the criticism directly, Kamel challenged the authority of those attempting to police her narrative. Using strong language to defend her autonomy, she questioned, "How dare you tell me what to say?" The actress expressed her frustration with the public's tendency to dictate how she should process or discuss her own life experiences. She emphasized that her history belongs to her alone and that she retains the absolute right to share her personal struggles and the complexities of her former relationship as she sees fit. This exchange is the latest in a series of public confrontations between Kamel and her online audience. Known for her outspoken nature and her willingness to discuss controversial personal matters, Kamel remains firm in her stance against external interference. Her response signals a refusal to be silenced by public disapproval, asserting that her platform is a space for her own truth, regardless of how it is received by detractors.
