MTN Ghana has officially launched the 2026 edition of Savannah Fest in Tamale, a flagship regional celebration designed to honor northern Ghanaian culture and mark the telecommunications giant's 30th anniversary. Scheduled for the first week of October 2026, the festival serves as a strategic platform for MTN to engage with its customers in the northern sector while reinforcing its commitment to community development. This upcoming edition is particularly significant as it coincides with the company's three-decade milestone of operations in Ghana, highlighting a long-term partnership with the region's traditional leaders and residents.
The festival itinerary includes a diverse array of activities aimed at promoting health, unity, and local talent. Central to the celebrations is a community football competition and a major music concert featuring prominent artists. In addition to entertainment, MTN is prioritizing environmental and public health through a massive clean-up initiative involving approximately 16 communities across the region. Health-focused activities will also be organized to provide essential wellness services to residents, reflecting the company’s broader social responsibility goals and its desire to give back to the communities that have supported its growth.
To incentivize participation and reward loyalty during the anniversary year, MTN has announced substantial financial and material commitments. Each of the 16 participating communities will receive a grant of GH¢10,000 to support local development projects. For individual customers, the festival offers high-value rewards, including significant cash prizes and Toyota Land Cruiser Prados. These rewards are part of a broader customer appreciation strategy aimed at deepening brand loyalty in one of Ghana's most vibrant cultural hubs through tangible investments in the lives of its users.
Beyond the immediate festivities, the Savannah Fest underscores MTN Ghana's ongoing investment in the northern regions. The company emphasized that its social projects, ranging from education to healthcare infrastructure, continue to play a pivotal role in its regional strategy. As Tamale prepares to host the 2026 event, the festival stands as a testament to the intersection of corporate growth and community empowerment, promising a significant economic and social impact for the northern sector as it showcases the rich heritage of the Savannah region.
