MobileMoney Fintech LTD has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to expand digital financial services for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ghana. The initiative is designed to enhance financial inclusion, specifically focusing on the needs of women and youth-led businesses. The agreement, signed by CEO Shaibu Haruna in Accra, establishes a framework to provide critical financial tools to entrepreneurs who often struggle to access traditional banking services.
Central to this partnership is the goal of reaching 18,000 MSMEs by June 2027. The project will deploy a range of digital solutions, including specialized savings accounts, micro-loans, and comprehensive business training programs. By integrating these services into the mobile money ecosystem, the partners aim to provide a seamless financial experience for small business owners. This approach not only facilitates easier access to credit but also encourages a culture of savings and financial planning among local entrepreneurs.
The collaboration is projected to catalyze approximately GH₵11.7 million in financial resources, providing a significant boost to the liquidity available to small-scale enterprises. As mobile money becomes an increasingly dominant force in Ghana's financial landscape, such partnerships are viewed as essential for driving economic growth and poverty reduction. By empowering MSMEs with digital financial literacy and resources, the initiative aims to build more resilient businesses that can contribute sustainably to the national economy.
